The FedRAMP Program Management Office is apparently riding the efficiency wave

As a 3PAO, we regularly check the FedRAMP marketplace and keep an eye on any press releases related to FedRAMP via Google alerts. For the past few weeks we've had a growing sense that the pace of movement in the marketplace was picking up, but really had no hard evidence.

Today, we did some analysis from the publicly available marketplace data to see if there was a trend and we are all a bit surprised by what we are seeing. By analyzing the number of FedRAMP Ready Cloud Service Offerings (CSOs) as well as the number of FedRAMP Authorized CSOs going back to August 2023 it is apparent that the PMO started picking up the pace on or around January 28, 2025.

First looking at the number of authorizations:

Daily Number of FedRAMP Authorizations since August 29, 2023

The authorization count has ticked up 9 in the past two weeks for a rate of roughly 1.5 days per authorization. By contrast, the previous 518 days had netted an increase of only 43 authorizations at a rate of 12 days per authorization.

Similarly looking at the number of FedRAMP ready CSOs over the same period:

Daily Number of FedRAMP Ready CSOs since August 29, 2023

FedRAMP Ready metrics aren't cumulative as they drop when a FedRAMP Ready CSO converts from ready to authorized. Despite this, it is still evident that the PMO has been clearing their queue including 11 new FedRAMP Ready CSOs in the past couple of weeks after a several month draw down period going back to October of last year.

Whatever your opinion on DOGE, I know that our CSP clients will appreciate knowing that the PMO is hard at work on the queue and that we at InfusionPoints (as always) appreciate their hard work and efforts!
