The smartest move is to build for both current and future paths. That means a cloud foundation that can support Rev 5 expectations while preparing for 20x validation and agency reuse.

• Know what evidence your systems can produce today.
• Map controls to owners and operating data.
• Plan for continuous monitoring before launch.

Machine-readable does not mean context-free

Structured evidence makes validation faster, but reviewers still need to understand scope, source, time, method, and result. Evidence pipelines should preserve lineage and explain why a signal demonstrates the intended security outcome.

That requires coordination between engineering, compliance, and operations. The data model cannot be designed only for an auditor, and the operational telemetry cannot remain disconnected from control intent.

Build a transition roadmap

Start with evidence that already repeats: asset inventory, identity configuration, vulnerability scans, logging coverage, change records, and response metrics. Remove manual handling, establish validation logic, and tie exceptions to accountable remediation.

Then evaluate how the platform will share current trust information with assessors and agencies. Teams that can expose reliable signals without manufacturing a new package for every request will move faster as trust centers and certification classes mature.

Prepare for both authorization and operation

The strongest readiness strategy satisfies today’s Rev. 5 obligations while building toward continuous validation. It avoids a false choice between current requirements and the future model by making secure operations the common source of truth.
